The Region 3 Leadership Team is pleased to announce that Ms. Erica Loesch has been appointed as principal of Saratoga Elementary School (ES), effective Wednesday, July 1, 2020.  Ms. Loesch brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the principalship.  She has been a teacher at the elementary school level, a Special Education Department Chair, a summer-school site administrator, and served as an assistant principal at Saratoga ES and Burke School.

As assistant principal at Burke School, she was integral in establishing a public separate day school program for students in grades K-6.  She collaborated with all stakeholders to ensure the needs of the whole child were met.  Prior to her current position, Ms. Loesch served as the assistant principal at Saratoga ES where she oversaw the Comprehensive Services Site program.  She was also instrumental in working with grade-level teams to ensure fidelity of literacy, math, and science instruction.

Ms. Loesch’s familiarity with the academic programs at Saratoga ES will be beneficial as she embraces the community’s desire to build on the foundation of engaging all stakeholders in creating a culture of high expectations.

Ms. Loesch earned her Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and Elementary Education at Elon University and her Master of Arts in Education - Leadership and Policy Studies, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  She has certifications and endorsements in Special Education K-12; Elementary Education, Pre-K-6 and Administration, and Supervision, PreK-12.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Loesch as the new principal at Saratoga Elementary School!  She is looking forward to “returning home” and working closely with students, families, and staff to continue to grow a warm, safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
